Current Needs

Entrepreneurs-in-Training

  • Description. You have a business concept with significant market potential. Local or national, we don’t care as long as long as it provides well-paying jobs ($20/hour+). Retail Gift Buyer

  • Description. The gift buyer will assist in the development of a gift and travel-related retail store. Candidate should have product life-cycle experience in the gift industry: ideation, design, development, pricing, profit projections, vendor sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, promotion, merchandising, distribution, and financial analysis.
  • Hours and Opportunity. Position will start at 20 hours per week; transitioning to full- time. Depending upon experience, performance and desire, the opportunity could transition to store management.

Retails Sales: Tours, Souvenirs, Gifts and Rentals

  • Description. Multiple positions will be available in a retail store environment selling guided tours, souvenirs, gifts, and renting recreation equipment. Applicants should be passionate about recreation activities, be knowledgeable of the local area, and had numerous hiking, camping, fishing and boating experiences. Friendly, outgoing, self-motivated, organized, and excellent communication skills are a must. Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
  • Hours and Opportunity. Positions available for both part- and full-time. Manager position starts now; other positions start in April-May. Working some weekends and evenings required May to September.

Tour Guides

  • Description. These positions will lead guided tours in the Cottage Grove area. Prior theatre or acting experience is beneficial but not required. Tour guides are “actors onstage”. They will need to memorize scripts and facts about the content of the tour. There will be a test. First-Aid, CPR and AED instructor certifications will be required as a condition of employment. Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to remain calm in stressful situations, be flexible and open to change, and sensitivity and understanding is required. Applicants should love the local area. Friendly, outgoing, self-motivated, organized, and excellent communication skills are a must. Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
  • Hours and Opportunity. Positions available are part-time. Working some weekends and evenings required May to September.
